VILLAREAL, Spain – Porcelanosa has opened a new €55-million manufacturing facility for its XTONE sintered-stone slab product. The new plant, when running at full capacity, is anticipated to produce close to 14 million ft2 annually. Located at the Spanish multinational’s headquarters here, the new production center specializes in the manufacture of large-format porcelain and sintered stones. The plant will produce 320xm X 160cm and 270cm X 120cm panels in thicknesses of .6 cm, 1.2 cm, and 2 cm, with the capability of producing 3 cm surfaces.

MADRID – Spanish surfaces company Cosentino Group is looking at issuing a stock offering later this year for a partial stake in the company, according to the Spanish financial publication Expansion. It reported earlier this year that the family-held firm has hired the investment banking firms of Goldman Sachs and JPMorgan as “global coordinators” for an offering that might come as early as this summer. Cosentino’s main business is surfaces, with natural stone, Silestone® quartz and Dekton® ultra-compact products. It also has real-estate holdings in Spain.
