JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Cosentino Group officially announced plans in mid-May to build a U.S. manufacturing plant here. The Cantoria, Spain-based manufacturer of Silestone® quartz and Dekton® ultra-compact surfaces plans to break ground on the $270 million facility by January 2025, with a target completion date of 2028. The proposed site is on 330 acres (to be bought from the city) approximately 20 miles east of the Port of Jacksonville, with immediate access to Interstate 10. The new plant will initially create approximately 180 jobs.

ARLINGTON, Va. – Taffy Event Strategies, the organizers of Coverings, announced that Coverings 2023 exceeded expectations with a 50% year-over-year increase in attendance. The ceramic tile and natural stone event ran April 18-21 in Orlando, Fla. The numbers rivaled pre-pandemic levels. The show took in 450,000 ft2 of exhibition space and featured exhibitors from 40 different countries, totaling more than 1,000 exhibitors. International exhibitors made up 74% of that number, while 77% of attendees were from the U.S.
