WASHINGTON – A anti-dumping tariff increase for Indian-made quartz surfaces won’t happen this year, at least for most producers. During a U.S. International Trade Administration tariff review, one of the two groups submitting data was late. The ITA initially sought to raise the rate of most Indian producers to more than 160%. After public comments, ITA left the other producers’ rates at 3.19%, while raising the tardy companies’ to 323.12%.
MP MENACHE, Israel – Caesarstone Ltd. reduced its worldwide workforce by 10% late last year to address what it called “the ongoing slowdown in demand” for surfacing products. The cuts came in Israel and other countries . An Israeli financial publication reported that more than 200 employees would be leaving Caesarstone, some whom had been laid off, and others who left voluntarily. The company also cut its estimated annual revenues for 2022 by 3%.
