Cutting Cristallo Quartzite
PAUL44 Premium Member
Does anyone have any tips on cutting this color quartzite? I've tried multiple things: cutting with a Panther P2Q quartzite blade to even a Dekton® blade. Tried high RPMs and low also fast and slow feeds. Nothing worked. Any suggestions” McGrory Inc. Kennett Square, Pa. cnc@mgroryinc.com

Some quartzite we end up having to cut halfway through then go back and complete the cut with a second pass. It's awful, and a time suck, but it's better than screwing up blades/material/machines. Might be worth a shot. corey@stonedimensions.com

I almost always step-cut the quartzites. Justin Zacherl Creekside Granite and More Justin.zacherl@stonefabricatorsalliance.com

I agree with all the above. I also try to avoid plug cuts.
Here’s our rpm and feed rate for a 3cm quartzite. I cannot remember the name right off-hand. But we did not step-cut it and cut a couple miters. Danny Imagine Marble & Granite Canadam

We run our blade at 1450 RPM. Currently running the Red Dragon blade..

Justin, slow the RPMs down to 1050 on 16” blade. We cut all quartzite 3cm one-pass no issues with GranQuartz Cerberus blade. I’ve mitered 3cm Taj Mahal in one pass with that blade. Tim Farr Stoneworks of Augusta Inc. Augusta, Ga.
