Contemporary Bath
Sunny Penthouse
Sandra Diaz-Velasco, AIA, ASID,LEED BD+C, AR Eolo A&I Designs, Miami
Darkness in the penthouse and intricate partitions hampered an otherwise generous square footage and opposed the clients' wishes to have a spa experience every day. Tthe unusual curvature of the building's structure was not read in the interior space’s layout.
The egg-shaped tub anchors the wet area space with a moon-inspired light above. The adjacent shower area, which includes a light, sound and aromatherapy steam system, features anti-slip marble tiles. Flooring throughout is marble.

Master Bath
Patricia Calasich KasaMia Interiors, Miami
The client wanted to renovate an outdated Master Bathroom into a sanctuary that felt sophisticated and timeless, using natural materials such as marble slabs and wood and pairing them with polished nickel fixtures for a sleek look.
The ceiling was high, and the service elevator height could not accommodate the full-height slabs the owner wanted to use on the walls. By creating a reveal detail at the height of the vanity and baseboard, slabs and wood panels could be fabricaed into more-manageable sizes to be transported to the site and in the service elevators. The slabs/panels were also easier to install minimizing risk of breaks and waste of material.

One Bad Ombre
Gina D'Amore Bauerle D'Amore Interiors, Denver
Before renovation, the large bathroom had somewhat unimaginative space. The aim was to divide up his-and-her vanities, alter the floor plan and add a wow factor and overall style updates to increase property value for future sale
A clean single waterfall countertop that spanned the entire surface in Cambria’s Ella Matte quartz made the back to back vanities appear as one. The MTI Continuum sinks feature a piece of the slab in the center on posts, creating a hidden drain and infinity-edge effect.
3rd Place (>55 ft²)

Tile: Sicis custom gradient shower wall glass mosaic ($18,000)
Flooring: 12" X 24" Walks white tile + Encaustic Coal tile ($8,500)
Total materials: $91,400

Brickell Condo Master
Sandra Diaz-Velasco, AIA, ASID,LEED BD+C, AR Eolo A&I Designs, Miami
Located at the very end of the Master Suite and completely lacking natural light, this Master Bath was the most challenging space of a renovation project. Hidden pipes running thru the ceilingopposed the idea of gaining ceiling height and getting rid of soffits.
Although the existing plumbing-fixtures location didn't make the job any easier, the designer managed to totally reconfigure floor, ceiling and walls in order to gain square footage and ceiling height. The ceiling waves emphasize our design intention, but also help to disguise the existing plumbing pipes
