WASHINGTON – The appeals of two decisions from the U.S. Court of International Trade on unfair-trade tariffs on quartz surfaces will be considered by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. M S International (MSI) filed for reconsideration of a ruling against including fabricators as producers as the U.S. Commerce Department investigated unfair-trade claims made by Cambria Company LLC. MSI is one of several importers appealing a separate case concerning inclusion of quartz surfaces from China using fine-particle crushed glass powder.

XIAMEN, China & VALÈNCIA, Spain -- Just when it looked like COVID-19 ceased to be a show-stopper, the Omicron variant delayed two large international trade events. This year’s China Xiamen International Stone Fair – the largest in the world -- was pushed back from mid-March to May 5-8. Organizers took the action to abide with strict government regulations on large gatherings. And the 2022 Cevisama tile trade show will be held June 13-17, rather than early February.
